Avery Elle Glow in the Dark Christmas

Hey there! It's Monday, welcome back to my blog. Today I've got another Christmas card to share with you. It's the 9th card in my Christmas card series over on my YouTube channel. So that means there is a video for this card too. Be sure to check out this card and the other cards in my Christmas card series. There is a Christmas playlist over on my YouTube channel.

I had a lot of fun making this card.  I used the Avery Elle "Sledding critters" stamp set. <----Available here .   (I also linked to a great add on set below too) I stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it in with pencil crayons.  I fuzzy cut out the image.  I also used my Big Shot machine to cut out the circle from some blue scrap paper I had. I also used the big shot to create the chevron embossed background.  The embossing folder I used is from Momenta. ( I linked to Tim Holtz chevron embossing folders that are available.)

Then I worked on my circle. First I used the anti static pouch to prep the circle to use embossing powder. Then I took two of the little snow ball circles from the stamp set. I used Simon Says Stamp clear embossing ink to stamp those out.  I added Michael's Recollections White embossing powder and used the marvey heat tool to melt the embossing powder. Then I added more of the snow balls with the same ink and this time I used Lawn Fawn glow in the dark embossing powder and melted that again with the heat tool.

At this point I was ready to adhere all my layers together.  I used the scotch Advanced tape Glider to adhere most of it.  To pop up the sled I used foam squares from the dollar store and a bit of the advanced tape glider  to add adhesive to the bottom of the sled and the bunnies head. This gave it a 3D look and added depth to the sled.

Then I did something a bit risky. I used my Memento Tuxedo black ink and the string of lights stamp from the avery elle set and stamped it directly on the embossed background at the top.  It worked, had to fix a few spots with a black pen.  I colored the lights in with pencil crayons to match the lights on the sled.

To finish off the card I needed to do one more thing and that was stamp the sentiment. I decided to use both of the sentiments from the same Avery Elle stamp set.  They says "Happy Holidays,  bring on the merry". I stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used Simon Says Stamp clear embossing powder to emboss the sentiment. Again I used the marvey heat tool to melt the embossing powder.   I cut around the sentiment and then used the Xyron Sticker maker to quickly adhere it to my card.

P.S. Don't forget this card glows in the dark.   Near where I live we have a park with a lake and every year they put up a ton of lights.  It's so beautiful and you can go walk around the lake at night and see all the pretty lights.  This card reminds me of this, the Christmas lights lighting up the night sky.

Get Kids Crafty May Blog Hop Gardening theme

It's that time of month again where I share a fun crafty project that I made with my kiddo Riley for Get Kids Crafty. Hello and thank you for joining us for the May Get Kids Crafty! blog hop! We are thrilled to have you! Our theme this month is gardening and our kids have created some AMAZING projects to share with you! We had a lot of fun creating our project this month. We made a bumble bee mobile.  Both my kids love the song bringing home my baby bumble bee. Especially my youngest Liam, it seems to usually calm him down when he's upset.  So we created this fun project to the theme of the song.      First we had to die cut our bees, Here is Riley playing with an already cut bee in the Big Shot machine.      Here is Riley turning the handle on the Big Shot machine to cut out all our bees. We had to do 16 in total one for the front and back as you will see in a little bit. Here is what the finished bee looks like and the die cut that we used from
