Christmas in July 2020 #1/ Recycle with me #4 candle sticker packaging

Hello, welcome back to my blog.  Today I’ve got a super simple slimline card over on my YouTube channel. This card is also a part of my Recycle with me series.

Today also kicks off the start of my Christmas in July card series here and over on YouTube.

As I mentioned above this card is super simple. I saved the sticker packaging off a candle last year after Christmas.  I knew I wanted to use it in a project so I thought a Christmas in July card would be the perfect fit.

I chose to do a slimline card as the sticker was almost the perfect size for this. I only needed to cut off a bit of the sticker.  Though I added that to the inside of the card to add some Christmas cheer inside.

For the Sentiment I used the “Season’s Greetings” stamp from Simon Says Stamp’s Peace on earth stamp set.   I used Simon Says Stamp clear embossing ink and applied Simon Says Stamp white embossing powder to emphasize the sentiment on the black cardstock and make it stand out on the card.   To heat set the embossing powder I used my heat tool.

As a final touch a sprayer some gold shimmer mist on the card to add a little glitter and shine.  The gold didn’t really show up but it does have a shimmer to it especially on the black area with the sentiment.  The shimmer is from Michael’s Recollections and it their Mica Powder.  I recently picked it up at Michael’s and you can see more details about those in my Michael's haul video over on YouTube.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Christmas in July. Let the festivities begin and get those Christmas projects started.

Get Kids Crafty May Blog Hop Gardening theme

It's that time of month again where I share a fun crafty project that I made with my kiddo Riley for Get Kids Crafty. Hello and thank you for joining us for the May Get Kids Crafty! blog hop! We are thrilled to have you! Our theme this month is gardening and our kids have created some AMAZING projects to share with you! We had a lot of fun creating our project this month. We made a bumble bee mobile.  Both my kids love the song bringing home my baby bumble bee. Especially my youngest Liam, it seems to usually calm him down when he's upset.  So we created this fun project to the theme of the song.      First we had to die cut our bees, Here is Riley playing with an already cut bee in the Big Shot machine.      Here is Riley turning the handle on the Big Shot machine to cut out all our bees. We had to do 16 in total one for the front and back as you will see in a little bit. Here is what the finished bee looks like and the die cut that we used from
