The Rabbit Hole Designs “Caffeinated Fox” Dad Fuel

Hello hello, I’ve got a fun card for you today. I made this card for a friend who’s about to become a dad for the first time. This would also make a great Father’s Day Card or birthday card for Dad.

After cutting the card base which is from Micheal's Recollections card stock.  I stamped the couch from the Beth Duff Designs/Unity stamp co "Warmth of Home".  I used normal scotch tape to cover the Christmas Tree and reindeer on the pillow to make it a everyday pillow instead of a Christmas pillow.  Then I inked up the stamp in memento tuxedo black ink. I made sure to pull off the scotch tape on the pillows before stamping it onto the card base. If you don't remove the tape masking off the designs on the pillows you will just get a blob instead of a plain pillow.  To remove the tape I used some tweezers.

I also stamped the couch on some Inkadinkadoo  masking paper and cut it out. Then I peeled off the sticky back and placed it over the couch. So I could start working on the background.  I used Vintage Photo distress oxide and Fossilized amber distress oxide ink to create the background around the couch.  To apply the distress oxide ink I used a Dollarama make up brush.

I stamped the "Caffeinated Fox" from The Rabbit Hole Designs in memento tuxedo black ink.  I colored the couch and Fox using spectrum noir markers.  I used the colors EB8, CR10, OR1, BT5, BG4, BG6 and CT4.  For the cup on the fox I also used a Sakura white jelly roll pen to add the word Dad to the cup.  I also used a black pencil crayon to add come detail to the cup and make it stand out a bit more.  I used the white Sakura pen to add some dots to the bath robe to add some detail.

For the sentiment I used some Studio G letter stamps from Micheal's to stamp out different words, Dad fuel, new baby, Dad life and added some hash tags in front with a black pencil crayons.

Then it was time to adhere everything together.  For the carpet piece that I had already cut and colored from a previous project and the fox I used foam squares to pop them up the card.  For the sentiments I used the Scotch Advanced Tape Glider to adhere those to the top of the card.

Lastly to finish off the card and add some texture I used some crystal nuvo drops on the couch.  I used morning dew and English mustard nuvo drops.

As you can see this card was inspired by a black Rae Dunn mug that said "Dad Fuel"  To add to the whole gift I added some rocket candy in the cup. As all new dad's need some rocket fuel to get them started on fatherhood. hehe!

Get Kids Crafty May Blog Hop Gardening theme

It's that time of month again where I share a fun crafty project that I made with my kiddo Riley for Get Kids Crafty. Hello and thank you for joining us for the May Get Kids Crafty! blog hop! We are thrilled to have you! Our theme this month is gardening and our kids have created some AMAZING projects to share with you! We had a lot of fun creating our project this month. We made a bumble bee mobile.  Both my kids love the song bringing home my baby bumble bee. Especially my youngest Liam, it seems to usually calm him down when he's upset.  So we created this fun project to the theme of the song.      First we had to die cut our bees, Here is Riley playing with an already cut bee in the Big Shot machine.      Here is Riley turning the handle on the Big Shot machine to cut out all our bees. We had to do 16 in total one for the front and back as you will see in a little bit. Here is what the finished bee looks like and the die cut that we used from
