Recycle with Me #12 Bottle Cap Flowers "Mother's Day"

Hello There! Happy Saturday! I've got 3 cards to share with you today. Mother's Day is tomorrow so I've got a last minute Mother's Day card idea for you.   You can find all the information below and don't forget to check out the video for a full visual over on my YouTube channel.

Alright so for today's recycle with me project I used Bottle caps and a milk cap to make the middle of the flower 3D and stand out.

The 3 cards I created were very simple.  I first started off with some water color paper and my Koi watercolors. I took the bottle caps and held them and drew flower petals around the cap to create a flower.    Then I used some Spellbinders Circle dies I had in my collection to cut some circles to fit into the inside of the bottle caps.  I had two circle dies that fit perfectly with the two sizes of bottle caps so I was very happy about that.  To cut the circles I got out my Sizzix SideKick (mini die cutting machine).  You could use any circle dies you had in your collection.  When the circles were all cut out I was ready to write the messages on the circles.  I added various sayings "Happy Mother's Day", "I love you Mom" and "Mom you rock!".  You could totally use stamps for this too if they were small enough to fit onto the circles. Though I really liked the personal touch the hand writing gave.

Adding the sentiment into the bottle cap like this reminded me of the drinks you can get with the encouraging message you can read under the cap or the details when your favorite pop has a giveaway and they tell you to look under the cap for details.

To adhere the circles to the inside of the cap I grabbed some foam dots with adhesive and stacked the dots until the paper was able to stay inside the cap.  At this point I cut out my flowers I had painted before.

Then I got out the scotch Advanced Tape Glider to adhere the flower and the bottle cap to the card base.  To finish off the cards I pulled out the Koi water colors again and added flower stems to the flowers.  I also used my Marvey heating tool to speed up the drying process.  Then lastly I was ready to stamp the sentiment.  I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used an older Stampin Up "Mother's Day" stamp I had in my collection for the sentiment.

Get Kids Crafty May Blog Hop Gardening theme

It's that time of month again where I share a fun crafty project that I made with my kiddo Riley for Get Kids Crafty. Hello and thank you for joining us for the May Get Kids Crafty! blog hop! We are thrilled to have you! Our theme this month is gardening and our kids have created some AMAZING projects to share with you! We had a lot of fun creating our project this month. We made a bumble bee mobile.  Both my kids love the song bringing home my baby bumble bee. Especially my youngest Liam, it seems to usually calm him down when he's upset.  So we created this fun project to the theme of the song.      First we had to die cut our bees, Here is Riley playing with an already cut bee in the Big Shot machine.      Here is Riley turning the handle on the Big Shot machine to cut out all our bees. We had to do 16 in total one for the front and back as you will see in a little bit. Here is what the finished bee looks like and the die cut that we used from
