Recycle with me #6 Hot Chocolate package using Honey Bee Stamps

Hello there, I’m back.  It’s been just over a week since I shared last that’s because it’s been a little busy in life. Plus I’ve been creating, filming and editing a lot so I can get ahead and bring you new creations faster.

Today I’ve got three cards to share with you and of course there is a video over on my YouTube channel.

Today’s cards are apart of my Recycle with me card series over on my YouTube channel.  It’s the 6th video in the series so be sure to check them all out if you’re interested.

So for today’s recycle with me cards I’m using a Nestle coffee crisp hot chocolate package.  I loved the bright yellow on the packaging.  I wanted to create some hot chocolate themed cards because not everyone likes coffee. Shocking I know!!! Even the coffee lover enjoys a hot chocolate time to time.

I started off by cutting apart the packaging and picking some pieces from it that I wanted to use on my cards.

For the first card I used the front part of the package with the glass milk container and yellow cup.  I cut down a card base from Micheal’s Recollections card stock.  Then for part of the sentiment I used “Honey Bee Stamps” stamp Set Perfect Blend.  I stamped Let’s have in memento luxe tuxedo black ink and used Simon Says Stamp white embossing powder. I used my heat tool to melt the embossing powder.  To make the white embossed words pop and bring in more color to the card I used ripe persimmon mini distress ink. I applied it to the bottom of the card using  the make up brush from Dollarama.

To finish off the sentiment I used the words hot chocolate from the packaging and adhered that right after the stamped words.  To adhere those words and also the bigger image I used the Scotch Advanced Tape Glider.

For the second card I used a few different elements from the packaging to create a very different look.  It was very hard to cut through this material and get it to be straight that’s ok a more abstract look.  I stamped our friendship is a in memento luxe tuxedo black ink and used Simon Says Stamp clear embossing powder powder and used the marvey heat tool to melt the embossing powder on the ink.  To finish off the sentiment I used the words “A warm hug on a cold day” from the packaging. So the sentiment reads “ Our friendship is a warm hug on a cold day” I paired that with the hot chocolate image on the back and used some of the silver foil from the inside of the packaging to create the design on my card.  I adhered all the pieces I used the scotch advanced tape glider again to adhere everything together.  I did used some beacon liquid glue to adhere the words from the packaging as it was a bit thicker from the resealable area on the packaging.

For the third and final card I wanted to use the words coffee from the packaging since the particular flavor of hot chocolate I had was coffee crisp.  So I used the Honey Bee Stamps Perfect Blend Stamps Set again and stamped “Life happens coffee helps” in memento tuxedo black ink and used Simon Says Stamp Clear embossing powder and melted it once again with the heat tool.  Then I used the word coffee from the same stamp set and stamped it over and over on the card base.  After that I used Simon Says Stamp white embossing powder over the word coffee and once again got out the heat tool to melt that embossing powder too.  Next I used candied apple distress ink and the Dollarama make up brush to blend that color over the embossed areas of the card base.  Then I got out the scotch advanced tape glider to adhere the words coffee from the packaging.  The two different sizes fit perfectly into my stamped words.

Thanks for coming by today, stay tuned I've got lots more cards coming!!

Get Kids Crafty May Blog Hop Gardening theme

It's that time of month again where I share a fun crafty project that I made with my kiddo Riley for Get Kids Crafty. Hello and thank you for joining us for the May Get Kids Crafty! blog hop! We are thrilled to have you! Our theme this month is gardening and our kids have created some AMAZING projects to share with you! We had a lot of fun creating our project this month. We made a bumble bee mobile.  Both my kids love the song bringing home my baby bumble bee. Especially my youngest Liam, it seems to usually calm him down when he's upset.  So we created this fun project to the theme of the song.      First we had to die cut our bees, Here is Riley playing with an already cut bee in the Big Shot machine.      Here is Riley turning the handle on the Big Shot machine to cut out all our bees. We had to do 16 in total one for the front and back as you will see in a little bit. Here is what the finished bee looks like and the die cut that we used from
