Easy Spinner Card

Hello There! I've got a fun interactive card to share with you today. It's a spinner card.  To see just how easy it is and how I did it check out the video over on my YouTube channel.

I've always wanted to make a spinner card but they always seemed so complicated to me but I recently watched a video by my friend Lynnea Hollendonner and she made it look so easy. So I finally tried making a spinner card.

Lynnea’s Spinner card that inspired this card:

To start I used a spellbinders circle die with my big shot machine and cut a circle in the front of my card base.  Then I was ready to work on my card front. I used a stamp set by Beth Duff Designs "Better together" which is no longer available.   Though of course I wanted to use this super cute stamp set and I had a birthday card with this set in mind for awhile.

I stamped some of the images from this set in Simon Says Stamp clear embossing ink and used Simon Says Stamp white embossing powder. To melt the embossing powder I used the Marvey heat tool.

At this point you can not even see the images I stamped. So I grabbed the Koi watercolors 24 set and water colored these images in with the water color. By embossing it before hand it helps contain the water and color in the embossed areas. It also makes the image pop a bit with the white lines once everything is colored.

Once the images on the front panel were stamped I stamped 2 more images (the coke) from the set and did the same process I did above for the images. I stamped, embossed and water colored them.  This time I cut the image out though as this will be the image that is the spinner part on my card.

Alright, here comes the fun part! I opened  up the card base and lined up some fishing line over the circle in the card base and made sure it was tight. I grabbed some scotch tape and used that to attach the fishing line to the card base and secure the fishing line tightly to the back of the panel.  To hide the tape and messy part of the fishing line area I had cut a matching panel with a matching circle. So I used the scotch advanced tape glider to attach that panel over the messy part.

Now that the fishing line was in place I was ready to add my images (the coke) to the fishing line and create the spinner part.  I added one of the coke bottles and attached it to the fishing line using a very small piece of scotch tape to adhere it to the string.  Then to attach the other image I turned the spinner around and used the Scotch advanced tape glider to attach the second image to the other side.

Now it is best to use a mirror image stamp for this so that when adhering your images together they line up completly on the front and back. I actually don't have any mirror image stamps in my collection so I made it work by adding a sequins to each side where the images didn't line up.

After my spinner part was done. I was ready to move onto the sentiment. I stamped the "Bubbling over with excitement" sentiment from the better together stamp in Memento Luxe tuxedo black ink.   I also stamped the "Happy Birthday to you..." sentiment which comes from Lawn Fawn's stamp set Critter concert in the same ink.  Then I used Ranger clear embossing powder over all the sentiments stamped.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you have a very fun day.  I hope this inspires you to make your very own spinner card if you're a card maker too.

Get Kids Crafty May Blog Hop Gardening theme

It's that time of month again where I share a fun crafty project that I made with my kiddo Riley for Get Kids Crafty. Hello and thank you for joining us for the May Get Kids Crafty! blog hop! We are thrilled to have you! Our theme this month is gardening and our kids have created some AMAZING projects to share with you! We had a lot of fun creating our project this month. We made a bumble bee mobile.  Both my kids love the song bringing home my baby bumble bee. Especially my youngest Liam, it seems to usually calm him down when he's upset.  So we created this fun project to the theme of the song.      First we had to die cut our bees, Here is Riley playing with an already cut bee in the Big Shot machine.      Here is Riley turning the handle on the Big Shot machine to cut out all our bees. We had to do 16 in total one for the front and back as you will see in a little bit. Here is what the finished bee looks like and the die cut that we used from
