Happy Monday! I've got something different for you today. I have a video on my YouTube channel using the "Lisa" make up brush from Dollarama. It only comes in a small size as far as I could see and was $3. Dollarama is a Canadian dollar store. There are alot of similar brushes that have been been becoming popular in the crafting world. When I saw this one that was exactly the same as some of the ones being reviewed at this price point, I really wanted to try it out as I had not taken the plunge into the make up brush and blending trend yet.
The video will explain it best. I feel like I could of said more on the video too. Though I did not want to be repetitive either. So take a watch and see for yourself the results. I also do a quick comparison between the make up brush and the normal ink blending tools and foam blending circles.
These brushes are definetly worth it. I felt like I had so much more control. It felt more comfortable in my hands as well. I also found that you could quickly wipe the ink off on a micro fiber cloth and no matter the color it came off and you could move on quickly to your next color. I just tested the brush on a scrap piece of white card stock to make sure no ink was left.
I feel as if this is a great way to test the waters with this new way to blend. Try out the $3 brush and if you like it you could always upgrade to get more sizes. But I honestly don't think you need too many sizes. It depends on how much you will be using them and how big a surface you will be blending. I blended a whole cardbase with this smaller brush and didn't have a problem. So it's all up to you. Perhaps look at a dollar store you have local to you to see if there is a cheaper version of this brushes there.
Also since you can just wipe it off on the micro fiber cloth you only need 1 brush if you are content with the one size. Then just throw your micro fiber cloth in the wash when it needs it. I may pick up just 1 or 2 more of these brushes to have on hand as I was content with the smaller size.
