Avery Elle Otterly Fantastic Valentine's Day Card

Hello there, it’s Tuesday and it’s almost Valentine’s Day.  Do you make Valentine’s Day cards or projects? Today I’ve got a Valentine’s Day themed card for you here and a video over on my YouTube channel.

Today’s card features otters from Avery Elle ‘s stamp set “ otterly fantastic”.

I stamped the images in Memento tuxedo black ink and then used some colorific oil pastels I’ve had in my collection of art supplies for a long time to color in all the images.  I am not familiar with this medium but I just experimented with them and made them work for me. I added the color and then used paper towel to blend and spread the color. I really like how it turned out.

I cut down my card base from Micheal’s Recollections card stock and then created my background the same way with the pastels.

Then I was ready to do the sentiment. I grabbed some black card stock and the anti static pouch to prepare the surface for stamping.  I used Simon Says Stamp clear embossing ink to stamp the various sentiments on the black card stock from the same Avery Elle stamp set.  I used Micheal’s Recollections white embossing powder and melted the embossing powder with the Marvey heat tool.

At this point I was ready to adhere the images and sentiments to the card base.  I used the Xyron sticker maker and gem tac glue to do this.

To finish off the card I used morning dew and midnight blue Nuvo crystal drops to add some dimension and water bubbles to the card.  (I picked these two colors up from amazon.ca from the add on program for $3.98, which is a great deal, see links below. Next time you place an amazon order add these to your cart too)
