Simon Says Stamp- School Bus Messages

Hello Hello today I have a card and video to share with you using the Simon Says Stamp School Bus messages stamp set. This is the 2nd card in my fall Card Series over on YouTube.

I stamped the school bus on Spectrum Noir ultra Smooth premium card stock with memento tuxedo black ink.   Then I used distress ink to water color my images.  The colors of inks I used were squeezed lemonade, mustard seed, barn door, hickory smoke and salty ocean.  Fir the water brush I used the Sukura Koi Medium water brush.

After I was done coloring I used the Sakura white jelly roll pen to add some highlights and fix a few spots. Then I used a normal ball point black pen to fix some of the lines.  At this time the school bus was ready to be cut out.

To add the characters into the school bus I used the Mama Elephant stamp set Book Worm. Again I stamped them on the Spectrum Noir ultra smooth premium card stock and stamped it in memento tuxedo black ink. I water colored them using walnut stain, tumbled glass and barn door distress inks.  I didn’t color all of the image as I was going to cut the bottom half off to add them into the windows on the bus.  I put them into the windows and took a pen to mark where they would fit in the windows so I could cut off the part I didn’t need. 

After fussy cutting out the little critters I used scotch foam mounting tape to pop them up in the windows and make them stand out a bit more from the rest of the card. 

I cut a grey card base down from Michael's Recollections card stock. Then I used My Favorite Things Rectangle STAX Set 1 to cut down some yellow card stock from the Michael's Recollections card stock.  I also cut down some scrapbook paper that looked like lined paper which I had in my collection. 

I have so much scrapbook paper in my collection that I need to pull out more. What’s the craft item you have the most of but don’t often reach for? Let me know in the comments below.

Then I stamped my sentiment in my go to ink memento tuxedo black ink.  I missed the back to school mark but the great thing about this stamp set is there is sentiments you can use all year long.  Since I wanted to still use this as a fall themed card and the back to school theme I chose the sentiment “Have fun on your outing” so perfect for a kids or teachers field trip or any adventure this fall season. 

Before adhering everything together I used black soot distress ink to distress the edges of the card layers to just finish them off. I do this technique a lot lately. What’s something you always do with your cards? 

To adhere everything together I used the scotch Advanced tape glider.  Lastly to finish off the card and add a little bit extra I added some sparkly stickers in yellow. I believe I picked these up at Dollarama awhile ago.
