Get Kids Craft October Blog Hop Thanksgiving

Hello and thank you for visiting us for the Get Kids Crafty! October blog hop! This month our theme is Thanksgiving! The leaves are turning, there’s a chill in the air, and pumpkin spice is popping up everywhere! It’s the time of year when we think in warm colors and remember what we are most thankful for! The team and their kids have worked hard to create projects to share with you! Click through all the links to get some Thanksgiving project inspiration and then get crafty yourself! We would LOVE to see your creations! You can post them in our Facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/getkidscrafty/), tag us on Instagram (@getkidscrafty), or use our hashtag #getkidscrafty to share your projects!
For info on my project with Riley keep reading, and links for all the projects in the hop from the rest of the creative team will be at the end. Don't forget to check them out too.
We made a fall wreath using paper plates with the center cut out and leaves cut from  Simon Says Stamp Fall leaves die using the Big shot machine.

A pile of leaves using scrap paper. I don't know about you but I have a ton of scraps that I don't use as often as I should. Kids projects are perfect for using up those scraps in your crafty space. (I'm so sorry I can't find a link to this set on the Simon Says Website anymore, I'm sure there is another fall die cut that could be used to make this set. Or maybe Simon Says Stamp will restock it, I make no promises.)

We started off by using the Big Shot Machine to cut a ton of leaves. Riley loves using the Big Shot and can do it mostly all by himself. He wanted to keep cutting leaves so we had a big pile at the end.

While Riley was cutting leaves I was preparing his wreath part I took small paper plates and cut the center out and then Riley the glue and started gluing on the leaves. He was a natural with this and knew exactly what to do.
Looking good Riley!!

The creative process, what leaf shall I pick next? He loved making these, I think we made 11 in total or something around there. They made great Thanksgiving gifts as in Canada Thanksgiving is the first weekend in October.

To  finish off our wreath I made my own sentiment in word on the computer printed them off. Then cut them into stripes and let Riley glue them down.  That finished off our wreath.
Here is our finished project, Honestly Riley did most of it.  The sentiment on these could totally be switched up to Hello Fall, Thankful, So Thankful for you or whatever you can come up with for this fall season.  To my fellow candadians if you want to do this project this year that's your best bet or keep it in mind for next year when you're crafting with your kids.

To the Americans out there you still have time this year to use the Happy Thanksgiving sentiment.

Now it's time to hop and see the other projects by the rest of the creative team and their kids.
