Hello there, I hope you had a great Easter weekend. I've got one more Easter card to share with you today. It's a fun one, how would dinosaurs celebrate Easter? If you want to find out stay tuned and check out the video over on my YouTube channel for a play by play of this special dinosaur celebration.
To create this fun Easter themed card I used two sets from Lawn Fawn I used the newest Dino set from Lawn Fawn "Rawrsome" and the older Dino set called "Critters from the past". I think these sets work great together.
So I first started by picking the stamps out that I wanted to use and put them into my stamping platform. Then I grabbed some Mont Marte Watercolor paper that I found at a local store. Then I used the stamping platform and memento tuxedo black ink and stamped all the dinosaurs and extras.
Then I was ready to start water coloring all the dinos and other pieces. I used a Sakura Koi watercolor brush and distress ink mins to watercolor my images. For a full list of colors see the supplies used below at the end of this blog post.
Next, I fussy cut the images out and fixed any of the lines that got a bit smudged from water coloring.
For my background I had dabbed the distress inks directly onto my glass mat on my desk so that I could use them to water color in the images. So for the background I decided to get another peice of water color paper and spray the dried ink on the glass mat to reactivate it. Then I took the water color paper and pushed it into the ink and creating the background. No ink gets left behind, I was able to clean my space and also have a background with the same inks in a fun way.
To finish off the background I quickly used the Marvey heat tool to dry the background so I could get to create my scene right away.
Then it was time to create the scene and I used foam tape to pop up all the pieces for the scene. I also added a few critters and eggs to the inside of the card with some liquid glue.
I love how this card turned out!
