Recycle with me- Reese Chocolate Box

Hello there! Today I’ve got two cards to share with you and of course I’ve got a video for you over on my YouTube channel.  This is the 2nd video in my new series “Recycle with me” over on YouTube.

So let’s get to today’s cards. For the recycled part I used a Reese chocolate box.  I decided to use this in a recycling project because of the non traditional colors.

First off I cut down the box and chose the parts I wanted to use in my card.  Then I was ready to do my sentiments I used the stamp “snow country” a wood mounted stamp from Micheal’s $1.50 stamps that I’ve had in my collection for some time. I stamped it on vellum using memento tuxedo black ink. Then I added Micheal’s Recollections white embossing powder and heated that with the marvey heat tool to melt the embossing powder.

After doing the sentiment was done I adhered all my layers together with the Scotch Advanced Tape Glider and some foam squares. I cut down the black card stock and the card base from Micheal’s Recollections Card.  To finish off the card I used the memento tuxedo black ink to distress the edges of the card base.

For the second card I did the same things just with some different elements from the box.  I used another wood mounted stamp from the Micheal’s $1.50 stamps that says “oh what fun” and stamped it in memento tuxedo black ink and then used some silver embossing powder I had in my collection.  Before doing this I also prepared the surface with the anti static embossing pouch. But I didn’t emboss it quick enough as memento tuxedo black ink is not the best for embossing though if I move fast enough I can usually make it work. This time I didn’t have luck and my embossing powder did not stick to the ink.  So to fix this problem and not have to redo it. I grabbed the Sakura white gelly roll pen to fill in where the embossing powder didn’t stick. I actually like how this turned out as it looks like snow on the silver sentiment.  Then once again I used the scotch advanced tape glider and foam squares to adhere everything together. Then lastly I used the memento tuxedo black ink to distress the edges of the card base to finish off the card.

Thank you so much for coming by today. I hope you enjoyed today's recycle with me cards. Come back Friday for a non recycle with me project.  My goal is to start posting every Monday and Friday here and on my YouTube channel. Get Kids Crafty May Blog Hop Gardening theme

It's that time of month again where I share a fun crafty project that I made with my kiddo Riley for Get Kids Crafty. Hello and thank you for joining us for the May Get Kids Crafty! blog hop! We are thrilled to have you! Our theme this month is gardening and our kids have created some AMAZING projects to share with you! We had a lot of fun creating our project this month. We made a bumble bee mobile.  Both my kids love the song bringing home my baby bumble bee. Especially my youngest Liam, it seems to usually calm him down when he's upset.  So we created this fun project to the theme of the song.      First we had to die cut our bees, Here is Riley playing with an already cut bee in the Big Shot machine.      Here is Riley turning the handle on the Big Shot machine to cut out all our bees. We had to do 16 in total one for the front and back as you will see in a little bit. Here is what the finished bee looks like and the die cut that we used from
