Christmas Blessings

Hey there!  It's Friday and I've got a new Christmas card to share with you today. It's a part of my Christmas card series on my YouTube channel.   This is the 8th Christmas card in my Christmas card series. I will be posting every Monday and Friday counting down too Christmas.

This week felt really long to me, in a good way. In my last blog post and video I talked about how my husband and I switched the rooms around in our place. So we have all been adjusting to that and I've been organizing all the little things.  It's been nice to get things back in order and just use our space better.  Though it's a lot of work to figure out the best way to organize stuff. I've been able to organize my new crafting room a bit, still have some work to do. Though I am very excited to see how it turns out. Already we are enjoying how we rearranged everything. It's easier to maintain, organize and just a better use of space.

Alright onto the card First I used my Big Shot machine to emboss the snowy house scene which is a embossing folder from Micheal's Recollections.  I picked this up this year so it might still be available. Then I cut just the snowy scene part out.  Then I was ready to create a background for my winter scene.  I used Ranger Distress ink watercolor paper and used broken china distress ink to blend on the paper to create a sky background.

After that I did something a little different than I usual do.  I took some white Acrylic paint and squeezed it out onto a clear block.  I squirted some water onto the clear block with a spray bottle and watered down the acrylic paint and mixed it all together.   Here comes the fun part now I used my paint brush to splatter the watered down paint onto the background.  I kept splattering until I was happy with the look.  I love the look and texture that this technique brings to the card.

I set this aside for awhile to dry. It took a little while as it was a lot of paint and alot of texture.  When it was all dry I was ready to add my sentiment.  For the sentiment I used Simon Says Stamp Peace on Earth Clear stamps.  I used the sentiment "Christmas Blessings".  I set up the sentiment in my stamping platform and used the anti static pouch before stamping (This tool prepares the surface for embossing and helps the embossing powder cling to just the ink).  Then I was ready to stamp the sentiment. I used memento tuxedo black ink and I had to ink the sentiment up a few times because of the texture on the background from the acrylic paint.  The stamping comes in handy so much for this and makes things so much simpler.

Once my sentiment was stamped I used Simon Says Stamp clear embossing powder to emboss it and used the marvey heat tool to melt the embossing powder and give the words a raised shiny look.

At this point I was ready to adhere everything together. I used the Scotch Advanced Tape Glider to adhere the background to the card base. The card base is cut down from Micheal's Recollections white card stock.  Then for the winter house scene I used some foam squares from the dollar store to pop up the scene on the card.

Thank you so much for coming by today. May your Christmas time be a good one with lots and lots of blessings!

Get Kids Crafty May Blog Hop Gardening theme

It's that time of month again where I share a fun crafty project that I made with my kiddo Riley for Get Kids Crafty. Hello and thank you for joining us for the May Get Kids Crafty! blog hop! We are thrilled to have you! Our theme this month is gardening and our kids have created some AMAZING projects to share with you! We had a lot of fun creating our project this month. We made a bumble bee mobile.  Both my kids love the song bringing home my baby bumble bee. Especially my youngest Liam, it seems to usually calm him down when he's upset.  So we created this fun project to the theme of the song.      First we had to die cut our bees, Here is Riley playing with an already cut bee in the Big Shot machine.      Here is Riley turning the handle on the Big Shot machine to cut out all our bees. We had to do 16 in total one for the front and back as you will see in a little bit. Here is what the finished bee looks like and the die cut that we used from
