House Mouse & Friends Challenge -Case this Card

Happy Saturday! I've got a very unique card to share with you today for the House Mouse & Friends Challenge Blog . This week over at their blog it's a case this card challenge so to see the card I am following hop on over to the blog. The idea behind the card though is to  keep the fun layout and main idea of using partial images.  This can be done in any theme. I'm not sure if I did this right but I tried and this is the idea I came up with. HMFMC190 I used the House Mouse Stamp Piece Corps from 1993. Then to go along with the theme of the puzzle I used my Sizzix Puzzle Maker #2 die to create the partial image look and create this fun look.  The sentiment is  actually from one Micheal's $1 bin stamp but I just masked off each word and stamped it in different colors to create a more fun look.  Then I cut out the words so the words so they fit where I wanted them. The puzzle pieces and sentiment are then popped up on foam tape to give it that extra dimen

The Stamping Boutique "Easter" Challenge

It's Friday once again and that means I've got another card and challenge for you from The Stamping Boutique .  This week's theme for the challenge is "Easter". It's coming up real soon and we want to see your Easter creations.  I used TSB image: The Trinity of Crosses To create the sunshine burst in the background I used The Tim Holtz Rays embossing folder.  I also coloured the image with my Spectrum Noir markers and the sentiment is from the Micheal's $1 bin. It's stamped on velum and I used The Fishtale Flags Layers STAX die-namics from "My Favorite things" to create the vellum banner it's stamped on. Hop on over to the challenge blog and show us your Easter creations and see more great cards and projects from the design team.  All the information you need to know is on the blog. I will be entering this card into Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge "Anything Goes" and this week they are featuring spec

Baby Shower Decor (Dinosaur Themed)

As promised from my previous post of dinosaur thank you cards I'm sharing some home decor project I recently made for my baby shower my friend hosted for me.   For these home decor projects I mostly used the stamp set from lawn fawn called "Critters from the Past".  I made this very cute and detailed centerpiece using the Lawn Fawn stamp set. I created a dinosaur scene using all the stamps from the set.  To create the "Coming Soon" banner I used thin craft dowels from the $1 store. To get the flag shape I used the My Favorite Things Fishtail Flags Layers STAX die-namics and used a stencil to draw on the letters.  Then it is stung up by some blue twine.  In the picture you can't see it well but there is also dinosaur foot prints and the little sign next to the baby dinosaur says "April 5, 2015" which is my due date.  Lastly all of the little pieces are attached to a flower dry foam block using toothpicks.  I also covered it in saran wrap an

Happy Birthday Tool Time

This is a recent card I made for my Father in Law's birthday.   I really love how this card turned out! I used the "My Favorite Things" Tool Time Die-namics to create this card. I really like this die set it's the perfect set to make cards for men.  The black piece is actually left over from another recent project I did cutting out circles with my Big Shot machine and then this was the scraps from that.  It's popped up using foam tape to give it some dimension and then I used the tools in the circle.  The silver part on the tools is tin foil to give it the look of an actual tool. To finish off the tools I used some mini rhinestone stickers.  Also you've seen me use that sentiment before "Happy Birthday to you" it's from the Micheal's $1 bin and this time I used white embossing powder with it so it would stand out on the sparkly blue paper. I am entering this card into the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Anything goes"

Happy Birthday to you! St. Patrick's Day style!

This is a recent card I made for my Mother in Law for her birthday of course. Her Birthday is the day before St.Patrick's Day and so she loves to have St.Patty's Day themed parties and such. So I went along with that and used this sweet and cute image from "Whimsy and Stars Studio" and I can't find the image in the store.  I again coloured the image with my spectrum noir markers.  The Happy Birthday to you! sentiment is from the Micheal's $1 bin. Then to finish off the card I used some green half pearls.   I am entering this card into the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Anything goes" they are also featured Spectrum Noir products this week which I used to colour this image.

Dinosaur Thank You Cards

My friend just hosted a baby shower for me and my soon coming baby boy.  He could arrive any day now as the baby's due date is April 5th.  Anyways the theme of the shower was "Dinosaurs"! So to thank my friends for all their wonderful gifts these are the Thank You cards I created for them.  I really love how these cards turned out! They are RAWR-TASTIC!! To create these super cute dinosaurs I used the Lawn Fawn Stamp set "Critters from the Past". I'd wanted this set of stamps for awhile now and recently got my hands on them to create with and just in time too for this dinosaur themed shower. I helped my friend do all the decorations for the shower too. Mostly using this stamp set and a few other resources too. (I'll have another blog post on some more of the details on the decorations I created soon, stay tuned)  For the card base I decided to go with a basic kraft paper and the sentiment is embossed in white and it says "Thank you for your Kindn

Happy Birthday, Razzle Dazzle!

I've got another Spring inspired House Mouse card to share. This one I made for my sister in law who just celebrated her birthday on March 13th. To go along with the same theme as my brother's card I chose another great image from House Mouse Designs from 2007 called "Razzle Dazzle" I really love this image, it's so fun. It reminds me of kicking back and relaxing.  I've also got to say I love eating raspberries too, though I'm not so sure I'd want to eat raspberries after a mouse was kicking them around like this but the image is cute and that's all I've got to say. The image was colored with my Spectrum Noir markers and the same "Happy Birthday" stamp was used as the previous post which comes from the Micheal's dollar bin. This time I added green twine behind the birthday greeting to add some texture and depth.  I used green twine and paper for the background because green is my sister in law's favorite color. I am a

Happy Birthday Garden themed

Spring is in the air and where I live it seems to have come early. So much sunshine and nice warm weather the last few days and if it hasn't been nice and warm the spring showers have totally been there too.  Anyways I have a spring inspired card to share with you today.  This card I recently made for my brother who celebrated his birthday on March 10th.  He wants to start a garden in his backyard so I thought this would be a great image to use for a spring themed birthday card.  I used the House Mouse Designs stamp from 1998 entitled "Carott Harvest". I colored the image with my Spectrum Noir markers and a few Copic markers here and there.  The Happy Birthday stamp is a stamp from the dollar bin at Micheal's and behind that I used twine to create a cool and unique look behind the birthday greeting. I am entering this card into the House Mouse Designs & Friends Challenge Blog which this week the theme is "Spring"  HMFMC189
