Riley has been obsessed with fish lately. Our landlords have a pond with Koi Fish in the backyard so that's fun and we recently saw someone fishing down by the river at the park. After that he kept saying Can I go fishing? So we got him the fishing play set from Dollarama for his water table. He's been loving it and it's so cute.

Anyways moving right on to our project to go along with the story above I thought it would be fun to create our own fish. Especially since Riley has been loving fish and of course it also went along with the swimming theme great.

We started off simply with an old CD we were not using anymore and Riley added some half pearls from the dollar store. He always sees them in my craft room and says I want to use those stickers and put them in my sticker book. He's put some in his sticker book before. But today was another perfect opportunity to use them too.

Then I put a spot of glue for the googly eye and Riley placed the eye on the fish. I also cut the shapes fin and tale pieces for this fish and glued them on the fish.

Then I started to put little dots of glue on the old CD and then Riley put the colorful sequins on to create his very colorful fish.

I love all the colors in these photos and in the finished fish.

Here is what our fish looked like when he was all done. I had a lot of fun creating this with Riley and he had lots of fun too.  He was so excited to make his very own fish.

Thanks for swimming by, I hope this project inspired you to get crafty with your kids.  Remember we'd love to see your project use the hashtag #getkidscrafty

Get Kids Crafty May Blog Hop Gardening theme

It's that time of month again where I share a fun crafty project that I made with my kiddo Riley for Get Kids Crafty. Hello and thank you for joining us for the May Get Kids Crafty! blog hop! We are thrilled to have you! Our theme this month is gardening and our kids have created some AMAZING projects to share with you! We had a lot of fun creating our project this month. We made a bumble bee mobile.  Both my kids love the song bringing home my baby bumble bee. Especially my youngest Liam, it seems to usually calm him down when he's upset.  So we created this fun project to the theme of the song.      First we had to die cut our bees, Here is Riley playing with an already cut bee in the Big Shot machine.      Here is Riley turning the handle on the Big Shot machine to cut out all our bees. We had to do 16 in total one for the front and back as you will see in a little bit. Here is what the finished bee looks like and the die cut that we used from
